In the era of Covid, many events had to be cancelled which in-turn forced companies to come up with a new way to launch their products, hence the virtual events. Even this year CES event was a virtual one.

So at a time like this, CEO announcing that next year’s CES — CES 2022 will be an in person event — is a bold move in my opinion.

Many giants like Amazon, AMD, AT&T, Daimler AG, Dell, Google, Hyundai, IBM, Intel, Lenovo, LG Electronics, Panasonic, Qualcomm, Samsung Electronics, and Sony are said to be already committed to this. It will also be available in digital format for those who can’t travel their and be their in person.

In a press release — Gary Shapiro, The CEO of CTA (Consumer Technology Association) said that “We’re thrilled to return to Las Vegas – home to CES for more than 40 years – and look forward to seeing many new and returning faces. Hundreds of executives have told us how much they need CES to meet new and existing customers, find partners, reach media and discover innovation”.

And the CTA has said that it will follow all the coronavirus safety guidelines suggested by the CDC for the upcoming CES 2022. It will also comply with all state and local guidelines for Nevada and the city of Las Vegas to ensure the safety of all attendees.

This year’s MWC event (Mobile World Congress) is also expected to be an in-person event as GSMA and Ministry of Interior of Spain have announced an agreement to allow all registrants, including exhibitors, attendees, sponsors, and partners to enter Barcelona to attend the in-person event. MWC event is scheduled from 28 June to 1 July.
