Xiaomi’s executive has confirmed that MIUI 12.5 older flagships like Xiaomi Mi 8 series, Mix 2S and Mix 3. They began the rollout of MIUI 12.5 for their current flagship devices recently in China. The Mix 2S and Mix 3 are still running on Android 10 based MIUI 12 which they received it back in the month of August 2020, unfortunately they were also declared ineligible for Android 11.
So its a good news for Mix 2S and Mix 3 users that although they aren’t going to get android 11 but atleast Xiaomi is still providing MIUI updates for their devices. As for Mix 3 5G, Xiaomi still didn’t confirmed anything about this device but we expect that it will also receive it, as it would be dumb to leave out 5G variant of said device.
The Xiaomi Mi 8 and Mi 8 Explorer Edition will also receive MIUI 12.5 update but the one thing that is still unknown is when will these above mentioned devices will receive this update. So just don’t expect it to be anytime soon.
