Qualcomm is gearing up for their upcoming event on March 17th, where they will officially unveil their latest creation – the new Snapdragon 7 chipset. Anticipated to be the second generation of its series, this highly awaited platform promises to bring exciting advancements to the world of technology.

There is currently no official confirmation regarding the name of the upcoming platform, with several rumors circulating in regards to the nomenclature. According to some speculations, the new chipset may be called Snapdragon 7+ Gen 1; however, considering that a year has passed since the launch of the previous variant, it seems more probable that the new platform will be dubbed Snapdragon 7 Gen 2, so as to align with the flagship naming convention of Snapdragon 8.

A leaked Geekbench listing reveals that the Snapdragon SM7475 chipset reportedly features a Cortex-X2 core clocked at 2.92 GHz, alongside three Cortex-A710 units with a frequency of 2.5 GHz, as well as four Cortex-A510 cores operating at 1.8 GHz. Additionally, a “leakster” claims that the Adreno 725 GPU has a clock speed of 580Hz. Despite the scarcity of information, this tantalizing news has generated considerable buzz among tech enthusiasts.

Snapdragon’s new midrange chipset may feature Cortex-X2 for the first time and use TSMC’s 4nm process technology.
