Apple has launched iOS 16.4.1, a bug fix update for iPhone users. The update contains significant security updates and bug fixes for issues related to Siri and emoji. All iPhone models capable of running iOS 16, such as the iPhone 8 and later, can access the update. The update, which has a build number of 20E252, is 299.2 MB in size.

It is advisable to install the update as soon as possible because it fixes two actively exploited security vulnerabilities, IOSurfaceAccelerator and WebKit. The former vulnerability allowed an app to execute arbitrary code with kernel privileges, while the latter could have resulted in arbitrary code execution when processing maliciously crafted web content. Apple is aware of reports indicating that both issues might have been actively exploited.

Moreover, the release addresses a problem where Siri wouldn’t respond in certain situations and introduces skin tone variations for the pushing hands emoji. While it may not be the most significant update, it’s crucial to install it to safeguard against the aforementioned vulnerabilities.
