Prolific leaker Ice Universe recently revealed that the upcoming One UI 7 beta for Samsung Galaxy S24 devices will significantly improve fingerprint unlocking speed. The update, based on Android 15, will debut officially with the Galaxy S25 series on January 22nd, followed by a rollout to older Samsung devices, starting with the S24 family.

The Galaxy S24 series already boasts industry-leading ultrasonic fingerprint sensors, known for their speed and reliability, especially in wet conditions. However, previous One UI versions sometimes hindered the unlocking experience with sluggish animations.

The new One UI 7 beta addresses this issue by optimizing animations and improving overall unlocking speed. While there’s still room for further refinement, Ice Universe confirms that the experience will be noticeably faster than with One UI 6.
