Rumors have increasingly pointed to Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 Air being just 5.5mm thick. However, most renders also show a camera bump or visor protruding from the back.

Now, a new leak claims that this camera bump will add an extra 4mm to the device’s thickness. That would make the iPhone 17 Air 9.5mm thick at its thickest point, including the camera hump, while the rest of the body stays at 5.5mm.

Apple is expected to equip the iPhone 17 Air with just a single rear camera. The device will reportedly feature a 6.9-inch LTPO OLED display—the same size as the iPhone 17 Pro Max. Leaks suggest the phone will pack a battery between 3,000 mAh and 4,000 mAh. The single rear camera and smaller battery are likely the main trade-offs Apple is making to achieve such a slim profile.
